    The paper discusses the commercial redevelopment of old industrial zones in the inner city area of post-socialist city. One of the characteristics of spatial distribution of activities in Croatian cities during the socialist period was positioning industrial plants in different locations in cities, including the city centre. Restructuring of the industrial sector resulted in closure of a large number of industrial plants in different locations in Croatian cities and those sites became ruins subjected to deterioration. Due to the lack of a more definitive legislature, old industrial plants are being devastated and new "iron-and-glass" shopping centres are being built. The purpose of this paper is to suggest measures for the regeneration of old industrial zones and the measures of their successful transformation into new multi-functional business zones.

    Over the past 15 years vast changes have occurred in the functions of certain areas of a city. Decentralization of retail and the process of transition have resulted in the changes of functions of certain parts of the city. Trend of opening of new domestic and foreign shopping centres, hypermarkets and other types of retail outlets have caused a relative decline of the number of retail outlets in city centre. First part of the paper gives a research of changes in business functions of Ilica street with an analysis of level of satisfaction with the location, infrastructure and cooperation with the neighbouring establishments. Second part of the paper deals with the problem of closure of business premises in the city centre.

    This paper presents present state of development of tourism in Krapinske Toplice Spa and possibilities of further development from the geographical point of view. Natural, socio-economical, cultural and historical components of the area are analysed. Special attention is given to development of health tourism and its impact on the development of other types of tourism. Paper explains the main reason of slower tourist development of Krapinske Toplice in comparison to other spas in the region.

    The paper deals with problems of conversion and redevelopment of military brownfields with the example of military barrack Karlo Rojc in Pula. In the first part of the paper definitions and types of redevelopment of brownfield sites are given followed by overview of relevant bibliography. The second part of the paper describes development of Pula from 1850s onwards. Military development of Pula started in 1850s when Austrian government decide to declare Pula the military port of the Empire. Military development will continue till the beginning of 1990s and leaving of Yugoslav Army. Abandonment of military sites and barracks resulted in emptying of large areas of valuable land in all parts of the city which become valuable resources. The third part of the paper gives an overview of current states of abandonment and redevelopment of military brownfields in Pula.     The aim of this paper is to present the development of the low-cost air transportation in Croatia and the position of Croatian airports in the low-cost carrier network of Europe. The data on the frequency of the lines between specific airports and the European airports were analyzed based on the data gathered from the flight schedule. Trend of development was analyzed based on the data from 2006, 2008 and 2010. In the last four years there has been a significant rise in the number of connections, still seasonal changes in the frequencies of flights can be noticed.

    Cilj rada je prikazati razvoj niskotarifnog zračnog prijevoza u Republici Hrvatskoj te položaj hrvatskih zračnih luka u mreži niskotarifnoga zračnog prijevoza u Europi. Podaci o frekvenciji linija između pojedinih zračnih luka i europskih luka analizirani su na temelju podataka dobivenih iz reda letenja. U svrhu analize trenda razvoja mreža i frekvencija, uspoređivani su podaci za 2006., 2008. i 2010. godinu. U posljednje četiri godine došlo je do znatnog porasta broja veza, no i dalje je primjetna znatna sezonalnost u frekvenciji letova.

    Grad Pula se u razdoblju od sredine 19. do kraja 20. stoljeća razvijala kao vojni grad što je rezultiralo velikim brojem objekata vojne namjene. Početkom 1990-ih dolazi do napuštanja dijela vojnih funkcija te je do danas na upravu predano 12 vojnih objekata i kompleksa. Predaja objekata u pojedinim dijelovima grada dovela je do značajne promjene funkcionalne strukture. Jedna od takvih četvrti je i Monte Zaro u kojoj su se nalazila dva vojna kompleksa. Cilj rada je prikazati i pojasniti modele prenamjne vojnih brownfield lokacija, prikazati prednosti i nedostatke smještaja u takve građevine te objsaniti utjecaj novih funkcija na lokalno stanovništvo na primjeru vojarne Karlo Rojc.

    Mogućnost upravljanja automobilom smatra se važnim segmentom u životima ljudi. Osobe koje iz određenih razloga nemaju mogućnost upravljanja automobilom u znanstvenoj se literaturi vrlo često smatraju prometno marginaliziranim osobama. Prometna marginaliziranost može utjecati na pristupanje životnim prilikama i mogućnostima. Cilj ovoga rada je ispitati utjecaj prometne marginaliziranosti na svakodnevni život srednjoškolske populacije Grada Zagreba. Istraživanje se temelji na korištenju subjektivnih pokazatelja prometne marginaliziranosti i to putem korištenja metode vlastite procjene prometnih problema i fokus grupa. Podaci su dobiveni anketnim ispitivanjem 826 učenika srednjih škola Grada Zagreba te provođenjem osam fokus grupa. Učenici srednjih škola procjenjivali su utjecaj prometnih problema s aspekta važnosti i stupnja težine kojim ih rješavaju.     The ability to drive a vehicle is seen as an important segment of human life. Individuals who do not have the possibility to drive a vehicle – for any given number of reasons – are often considered in the scientific literature as transport disadvantaged persons. Transport disadvantage can impact on access to many opportunities. The objective of this paper is to examine the influence of transport disadvantage on the daily life of high school population in the City of Zagreb. The research was based on the use of subjective indicators of transport disadvantage and on a self-reported measure of transport issues, as well as through the work of focus groups. The data were obtained in a survey of 826 high school students in the City of Zagreb, and with the participation of eight focus groups.     U radu je prikazan razmještaj trgovačkih centara u Zagrebu i analizirana su njihova gravitacijska područja. Na temelju rezultata anketa provedenih u King Crossu, Mercatoneu i Mercatoru prikazuje se razvoj pojedinih funkcija trgovačkih centara te se ukazuje na značajnu dominaciju trgovačkih funkcija u odnosu na socijalne funkcije.

    This paper reveals the industrial heritage of new urban quarters by approaching underutilised spaces in city centres in a systematic manner. By the comparison of selected districts in Vienna and Zagreb, it compares the framework conditions, as well as the origin and consequences of the development and redevelopment of underutilised sites. The conclusion draws attention to the extent of the similarities and dissimilarities in two seemingly different cities.
